A Second Look | Bobby Jindal Speech Text: Criticizes Obama, Both Parties

via Bobby Jindal Speech Text: Criticizes Obama, Both Parties.

From the text of Bobby Jindal’s rebuttal to President Obama:

Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal

“Democratic leaders say their legislation [stimulus] will grow the economy. What it will do is grow the government, increase our taxes down the line, and saddle future generations with debt. Who among us would ask our children for a loan, so we could spend money we do not have, on things we do not need? That is precisely what the Democrats in Congress just did. It’s irresponsible. And it’s no way to strengthen our economy, create jobs, or build a prosperous future for our children.

What George W. Bush and the Republican congress did was to grow the government and saddle future generations with more debt  than all the other Presidents in history combined. Bush began his presidency with a huge surplus, now the deficit ceiling is over $11 trillion. Each year’s budget shortfalls under Bush were over $400 billion. Bush expanded the government. He borrowed and spent like a drunken sailor.

Saying that the stimulus will increase taxes down the line is a stinking lie, and proves Jindal never read the bill. The stimulus bill does not increase taxes. The stimulus bill gave America its biggest tax cut in the history of the United States.

He also has gone back to Reagan and is preaching smaller government at a time when we are in dire need of government help. His references to “smaller government” prove he is out of touch with the people and is relying on failed policies of the past to take us into tomorrow.
