I have been backing the Jill Stein candidacy for President, but I can no longer. In light of the recent arrest of Stein and Honkala at a protest rally outside the venue that hosted the second Presidential debate, I have to drop my support. I understand that she fervently believes what she stands for, but a President should obey the law of the land no matter how minor. When an officer of the law explains to a Presidential candidate that he or she is trespassing and must leave, then that candidate should leave, not flop to the ground in a posture of passive resistance. This isn’t the 60′s and that behavior doesn’t work any longer. She cannot be a martyr by humiliating herself in such a manor.
I still support the Green Party and their platform, but they desperately need an adult at the top of the ticket.
