Fear of Being in the Minority

The splashy, all over the place anger from the ultra-conservatives this past summer was made to look bigger than it was by the media, especially by Fox Entertainment. We all know that the true grassroots “tea party” movement was high-jacked by AHIP, PR firms, and other big corporate funding sources. Even so, was their anger legitimate?

TAXEVIL

I think the signs they carried said one thing, but they actually felt another. Two causes of the obvious disconnect was with the big money organizers telling them what to be angry about, and the other was focus. What gave them away and revealed an aura of phoniness to the movement was the lack of focus on any single issue. Some protested taxes, while others protested Obamacare, while still more protested the top-down driven meme of “socilaism”.  This was prevalent at all protest sites.

They were frustrated and used taxation as a handy wedge issue. Taxation was just an easy target, an issue that has been abused throughout world history, and one that paints well on signs.

The underlying anger came from the sudden realization of a vacuum where their congressional power base used to be. I believe the “tea party” protesters were more angry about loosing the election than they were about paying their income tax. They were more angry that a black Democrat was elected president than any fears of creeping socialism.

From the eMail Bag: The Republican Plan (Video)

The DGA just sent me a video you need to see. It’s a short breakdown of how Republicans plan to take over America after this year’s 37 high-stakes governors’ races. The Republicans plan to win the nation state by state, electing Republican governors in time to gerrymander the big state’s congressional districts after the 2010 census.

Tom-

Do you remember the eight years of Republican control that put our country in this Great Recession? We’ve only just begun to turn the corner on the economic disaster that they caused. Imagine how much worse it’ll get if they return to power…

The Washington Post just laid out — in painful and frightening detail — the Republican plan to take over America again. And I think you should see it and share it with everyone you know.

Watch this short video for a summary of the Post analysis:

Every single American needs to understand the devastating consequences of a return to Republican control. But since many probably didn’t see the article, I need you to help spread the word by forwarding this video to your friends, your family, and anyone else you think should see it.

Here’s the link to the video again. You can use the form below the video to share it.

Together, we’ll continue moving America forward, not take our country on a U-turn to the GOP’s failed policies.

P.S. Don’t forget to forward this video to everyone you can after you’ve watched it!
